G-Plates LC are pre-formed baseplates that harden under light, made by Atlas Enta. Each plate is pink, shaped for the upper jaw and 2.2 mm thick.
The plates are soft and malleable, so they adapt well to the model. They stay stable in daylight for at least 20 minutes, then polymerise in about 3–5 minutes under a standard halogen light or UV light of 300–480 nm. Atlas Enta states high dimensional stability and very low shrinkage.
Laboratories use them to make custom impression trays and functional trays. They also serve as chairside bite-registration bases and as bases for wax try-ins.
The plates are packed 50 to a lightproof plastic storage box and have a shelf life of three years.
